Step 14 – Myth Busting: Myth #5 – Never Pet your Cat after using Essential Oils

Section image

Have you ever heard Myth # 5? “Never pet your cat after using Essential Oils.” Here’s the issue behind this myth: after using Essential Oils like Peppermint, Soothing Blend, or others, the oil can linger on your hands. Is this a problem if you happen to pet your cat after using an Essential Oil? The truth is, petting your cats with Essential Oils on your hands is actually a great way to topically apply the oils. Essential Oils are volatile, which means they dissipate into the air rapidly, and they absorb into the skin quickly. They won’t stick around for very long. But if you’re still concerned about getting oils on your cat, you can wash your hands after using them and before handling your cat. QUESTION – WHICH BUSTED MYTH SET YOUR MIND FREE?
